Associate

Michael Warner is an Associate in the Atlanta office of Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins Gunn & Dial.

Michael’s practice focuses primarily on commercial, real estate, contracts, and mass tort litigation. Previously, Michael worked as a Senior Associate at another Atlanta-based firm, where, in addition to his business litigation practice, he represented clients in local government matters, including those involving complex constitutional issues. In addition, Michael has experience advising clients in corporate mergers and acquisitions and other business divestitures, and he previously acted as outside general counsel for several businesses in the Metro Atlanta area.

Michael received his Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University School of Law where he excelled in several moot court competitions, earning the runner-up title in the Client Counselling Competition. Michael was also awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in his legal writing course. Prior to law school, Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts from Furman University where he participated in Division I cross-country and track during all four years.

Representative Experience

Michael successfully drafted and argued motions opposing summary judgment in two separate federal lawsuits in which Michael’s clients asserted constitutional claims against Georgia municipalities under § 1983, including claims for First Amendment Retaliation, Denial of Equal Protection, Stigma Plus, and violations of the Georgia Whistleblower Protection Act. In each case, Michael obtained a favorable Order denying the municipalities’ dispositive motion, and each lawsuit was ultimately resolved by the parties prior to a jury trial.
