Thomas S. Armiger

Tommy Armiger is an associate attorney licensed to practice in Florida. Since joining the firm, Tommy has built a broad civil defense practice representing clients in premises liability, wrongful death, product liability, and general negligence matters throughout Florida. He has defended clients in a wide range of high-exposure cases, including negligent security claims following a shooting on premises and a mass-casualty gas leak explosion involving more than 100 plaintiffs. He has also monitored local counsel in several maters that gathered national attention, including a mass shooting in Jacksonville, FL. In doing so, Tommy has taken and defended key depositions, drafted and argued dispositive motions, and served as second chair at trial. Notably, he helped draft and argue a successful motion for summary judgment establishing workers' compensation immunity in a negligence action, then helped brief and win the resulting appeal before Florida's Second District Court of Appeal. Following the appellate win, he led mediation and ultimately recovered payment for his client under the terms of a proposal for settlement. 

Born and raised in Delaware, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware. Following this, he received his JD from the University of Miami School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. While in law school, he was a member of the Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board and competed nationally in moot court competitions and was the recipient of the Litigation Skills Adjunct Faculty Scholarship.

Before joining the firm, he honed his legal skills during his time as a summer associate and extern at WWHGD's Miami office, where he gained hands-on experience in complex civil defense cases and developed his ability to navigate intricate legal challenges.

In his free time, Tommy enjoys playing golf and tennis, spending time with friends and family, and being an avid Philadelphia sports fan.

• Defended and obtained favorable settlement on behalf of company in a mass tort action arising from a gas leak explosion involving more than 100 plaintiffs.
• Defended and obtained highly favorable settlement on behalf of a company in a catastrophic injury case involving a plaintiff's leg amputation after discovery critical evidence on the eve of trial.
• Obtained summary judgment asserting workers' compensation immunity in a negligence action, successfully defended the ruling on appeal before Florida's Second District Court of Appeal, and subsequently recovered payment for the client pursuant to a proposal for settlement.
• Obtained a voluntary dismissal after filing motion for summary judgment asserting workers' compensation immunity in a negligence action involving an explosion on premises. 
• Obtained voluntary dismissal with prejudice in a negligence matter involving a motor vehicle accident.
