Ben Weinberg Presented Atlanta Bar Professionalism Award
Ben Weinberg was presented the 2003 Professionalism Award by Atlanta Bar Association President William D. deGolian at its annual meeting in May. The award, presented annually provided a worthy recipient exists, is based on the following criteria:
Outstanding contributions to a program or activity which advances or promotes excellence, professionalism and public responsibility within the legal profession.
Outstanding writings or speeches which advance or promote the same.
Other outstanding contribution to the advancement or promotion of the same.
Weinberg, a founding partner of Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins Gunn & Dial LLC, certainly embodies these ideals. He is an exemplary figure in the legal community and is admired by each side of the bar both plaintiffs and defense. He served as President of the Atlanta Bar from 1969-1970, and was a member of the State Bar of Georgias Board of Governors for 17 years with his final term ending in 1990.
He has been active with the Lawyers Club of Atlanta; American Judicature Society; Georgia Defense Lawyers Association; Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel; Association of Defense Trial Attorneys; Product Liability Advisory Council; Trial Attorneys of America; and Defense Research Institute. He is also a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. In addition, Weinberg served our country in the U.S. Navy and was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserve.
Receiving this distinguished honor from the Atlanta Bar testifies to Weinberg's leadership in the metro area, the state, and even beyond our borders as a true lawyer statesman. He has practiced law for almost half a century and continues to be a role model for the legal profession.
