WWHGD Associate Caroline Iovino Assists in Organizing Evidence CLE for Florida Bar

Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins Gunn & Dial associate, Caroline M. Iovino, was recently appointed vice chair of the Code & Rules of Evidence Committee of the Florida Bar for the 2008-2009 term. As part of her active involvement with the Evidence Committee, she helped organize the continuing legal education (“CLE”) course “Topics in Evidence,” held on May 16 at the Tampa Airport Marriott.

The CLE was a great success, with over 85 people attending the live CLE presentation and another 65 who pre-ordered the taped version.

The all-day event featured six speakers and a seated lunch. The speakers represented an impressive panel, with presentations from former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Florida, Arthur J. England, Jr.; Circuit Court Judge, the Honorable Ronald Dresnick and renowned criminal defense attorney and published novelist, Milton Hirsch. In addition, accomplished litigator, Amy Rubin and the talented entertainer John Barkett, spoke. Nationally-recognized WWHGD trial partner, Carol Michel, also spoke on the use of demonstrative evidence.

Attendees of the event were eligible for seven hours of CLER credit through the Florida Bar.  According to Iovino, planning the event took a significant amount of work, but the results were well worth the effort. “I am so proud of the CLE we put together,” said Iovino. “I cannot thank each of the committee members enough for making our program such a huge success.  I look forward to continuing to work with the committee and planning future events.”
