"Drug Diversion Creates Significant Liability Risk."

In a Journal of Healthcare Risk Management article, Carol Michel, partner at Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins Gunn & Dial was interviewed regarding major liability risks for healthcare organizations – specifically related to drug diversion.  She advised that risk to employers can take many forms and, while drug diversion may be impossible to prevent, Michel said an employer must provide proof of their efforts to curb such activity to best defend themselves against medical malpractice and other employment claims.
