David Dial & Lee Roberts Named Top Construction Lawyers

Chambers USA: Guide to Americas Leading Business Lawyers

Both David Dial and Lee Roberts were honored as Top Construction Litigation attorneys in the most recent edition of Chambers USA: Guide to Americas Leading Business Lawyers (2006). Additionally, Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins Gunn & Dial as a whole was lauded for its construction practice. Below is an excerpt from the guide:

The Firm: Although principally known for its insurance defense focus, this firm has, in the eyes of the market, "made grand strides" in recent years. It has developed project expertise in the construction and renovation of federal, state and local facilities and has substantial experience in alternative dispute resolution and litigation.

The Lawyers: David Dial was described as "a big-name lawyer who is perfect for the big-name cases." His litigation and arbitration skills were roundly applauded by interviewees, who also noted his alternative dispute resolution skills. "Respected" Lee Roberts was singled out for his industrious nature; in fact, one humorous commentator described him as "more committed than a lunatic in an asylum." He handles a mixed caseload of construction, commercial litigation and labor and employment law.

Research into the strengths and reputations of U.S. attorneys is carried out in the same way as the research for the Chambers Global and Chambers UK guides. In-depth interviews with clients and with attorneys are done over the telephone. For the current U.S. directory, more than 10,000 of these interviews were conducted covering the whole of the USA. They were carried out by a team of 40 full-time researchers over a period of eight months. The qualities on which rankings are assessed include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness/astuteness, diligence, commitment and other qualities most valued by the client.
