Matt Kramer was recently quoted in the Orlando Business Journal discussing Florida's new data center legislation and its implications for Central Florida's growing AI-driven data center boom.
In the article, Kramer addressed Senate Bill 484, newly signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis, noting that the legislation strikes a careful balance between fostering data center investment and protecting local communities and utility customers.
“The bill strikes a good balance between protecting local communities and incentivizing data center development,” he said. “The reality we are facing as a nation is we don’t have enough power to support the AI growth that is being projected, so I think it’s a necessity that additional data centers be built, but built in a way that is protective of the local communities and makes sure that their local energy bills don’t increase.”
