Trial Success in Florida Wrongful Death Case.

In July 2016, a Florida state court approved a favorable settlement for the defendant, a Fortune 100 transportation company, after a three-week jury trial.  During closing arguments, Plaintiff demanded $23+ million for the alleged wrongful death of a 24 year old husband and father, who died in a two-vehicle collision.  Our client, the defendant, denied liability.  After the close of evidence, the jury deliberated for two days, only to announce on the second day of deliberations that it was “hopelessly” deadlocked on liability.  Before the court declared a mistrial, Plaintiff agreed to settle on terms favorable to the defendant.  The trial team was led by Johnny Friedman, Larry Burkhalter and Shane O’Neill.
