Overview
Spencer L. Edwards is a seasoned trial lawyer who represents businesses and individuals in high-stakes litigation, with a focus on catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and complex commercial disputes. Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Spencer brings more than two decades of courtroom experience handling matters where the financial, operational, and reputational risks are significant.
What sets Spencer apart is his dual perspective. Having spent years defending manufacturers, transportation companies, property owners, and healthcare providers, he understands how sophisticated defendants evaluate exposure, build defenses, and try cases. Today, he leverages that insight to develop strategic, efficient pathways to resolution, whether through early negotiation, dispositive motion practice, or trial.
Spencer's practice spans the full lifecycle of a dispute. In his personal injury work, he handles catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims involving transportation incidents, product failures, premises liability, and professional negligence. On the commercial side, he advises and represents companies in complex business disputes, contract matters, and risk-sensitive litigation, often serving as outside general counsel to guide clients from pre-suit strategy through trial.
With a background in accounting and finance, Spencer brings a practical, data-driven approach to damages analysis and case evaluation. He is particularly effective in matters involving complex financial models, business loss claims, and multi-party exposure, helping clients make informed decisions grounded in both legal strategy and economic reality.
Over the course of his career, Spencer has tried and led cases across Texas and beyond, including multi-million dollar product liability disputes, wrongful death claims, and commercial litigation with significant exposure. His work has resulted in defense verdicts, appellate wins, and favorable resolutions in high-risk cases.
