WWHGD Successfuly Obtains Defense Verdict
Attorneys from Weinberg, Wheeler, Hudgins, Gunn & Dial, LLC secured a complete defense verdict on behalf of Marten Transport and its driver in a catastrophic injury case in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. The case involved a pretrial demand of $75 million and an ask for approximately $360 million in damages at trial. Judge Lisa Godbey Wood presided over the case.
The Weinberg Wheeler team of Josh Wood and Anne Rodgers was brought in prior to trial. They partnered with Zach Matthews and Luke Kennedy of McMickle, Kurey & Branch, LLP, who had worked up the case extensively before trial. Together, the trial teams presented a coordinated defense that resulted in a complete defense verdict.

The case involved high damages and catastrophic injuries after an individual was struck by a truck operated by a driver for Marten Transport.

Their commitment to trying this case and supporting the defense was critical to achieving this outcome.”
