Weinberg, Wheeler, Hudgins, Gunn & Dial has a long history in product liability defense. The Firm’s trial attorneys handled the cases that established the law of strict liability in Georgia. For the past 20 years, the Product Liability Litigation Practice Group has served as counsel in highly publicized cases involving automobile fuel tank design, SUV rollover, weight-loss drugs and toxic shock syndrome. The group has handled a number of highly significant product liability cases involving industrial machine design, tires, electrical equipment and consumer and household products.

Three of the group’s partners are members of the prestigious Product Liability Advisory Council.

Product Liability Defense Cases

• Represented a product manufacturer in Columbus, Ohio, in a fatality case involving a defective coupler for a crane; a defense verdict was reached in a trial lasting more than three weeks.
• Represented numerous Japanese product manufacturers and distributors in connection with product liability claims involving products such as all-terrain vehicles, industrial manufacturing equipment, end-tidal CO2 monitor, and golf carts.
• Represented multiple medical device manufacturers in claims including single failures and pattern litigation following Class I recalls.
• Represented claims arising out of the design and manufacturing of motor vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses, motorcycle, material handling equipment, and constituent and component parts.
