Senior Appellate Attorney Robert P. Marcovitch Joins WWHGD
Attorney Robert P. Marcovitch, with 25 years of experience litigating civil and criminal appellate cases in both state and federal courts, joins Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins Gunn & Dial as partner of counsel. His experience includes six years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Appellate Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Atlanta, several years at a large law firm, and, most recently, as a solo and small-firm practitioner focusing on appellate practice.
“The firm’s appellate practice will be greatly enhanced by Bob’s vast experience,” said Dave Dial. “We look forward to working with both Bob and our clients to grow our appellate practice.”
Mr. Marcovitch’s practice focuses on state and federal civil and criminal appellate litigation. He has written and edited countless numbers of appellate briefs, and has also conducted oral arguments in numerous cases. His considerable civil litigation experience includes product liability, premises liability, class action and real estate, among others.
Mr. Marcovitch has worked in virtually every subject matter area covered by the U.S. criminal code, including government corruption, bank robbery, mail fraud, RICO, foreign corrupt practices and money laundering. He is an adjunct professor at Georgia State University College of Law, teaching courses in appellate practice and in research, writing and advocacy. He received his B.A., summa cum laude, from Columbia University, and received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
Mr. Marcovitch is the fourth senior attorney to join WWHGD in 2012. Earlier in the year, John Menechino joined the firm in the Atlanta office. The firm also recently hired Alan Stanley in Miami.
“We have gone from being a small, litigation firm to having 90 attorneys in just a few years,” said Dave Dial. “We’ve managed to do this even as many other firms have reduced their numbers. Each of our new attorney’s experience will allow us to supplement the services we provide our existing clients and expand our clientele.”
