Practice focuses on civil litigation with emphasis on catastrophic injury, medical malpractice, nursing home litigation, product liability and automobile dealership liability. Has litigated and resolved cases involving serious injury, including wrongful death, in Georgia, Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama and New York.
Representative Cases/Experience
- Obtained defense verdict after a four-day case in Fulton State Court for one of the largest auto retailers in the U.S. in a case alleging negligence and fraud, with punitive damages sought for substantial injuries resulting from a traffic accident.
- Represented large cardiothoracic surgical group in Fulton County, Georgia in case involving repair of an aortic pseudo-aneurysm, resulting in paraplegia; eight day trial resulted in a defense verdict.
- Obtained defense verdict following a two-week trial for large medical group in Fulton County, Georgia, in case alleging failure to diagnose hydrocephalous, resulting in a brain injury to child.
- Represented three obstetricians and three nurse midwives in labor and delivery case, alleging that failure to perform a C-section resulted in catastrophic injury to a newborn, including brain damage; favorable settlement after a three-week trial.
- Represented general contractor involved in renovation of historic factory into loft apartments in which alleged negligence of contractor resulted in destructive fire; three-person arbitration resulted in a defense verdict.
