Civil practice focuses on construction litigation, representing contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, owners and surety companies in a range of related disputes. Has handled more than 100 cases in 16 different states and arbitrated numerous multi-million dollar claims involving hospitals, bridges, universities, airports, etc.
Representative Cases/Experience
- Defended design professionals in $75 million dispute over the adequacy of design of bridge in Charleston, South Carolina.
- Served as counsel for renowned Las Vegas casino and resort in a series of arbitrations; defended against thousands of individual claims totaling more than $30 million.
- Successfully defended owner of prominent children's clinic in Wilmington, Delaware, in six-month jury trial over disputes arising from construction of hospital.
- Successfully represented out-of-state construction company against the Georgia Department of Transportation over claims stemming from the construction of numerous metro Atlanta freeways.
- Represented contractor for major metropolitan airport expansion against state's capital city government; prevailed after a six-week jury trial.
